Million Dollar Spaghetti (Viral TikTok Recipe)

I love testing out viral recipes that I see online and putting a small twist of my own to share with you! This is one of TikTok’s Million Dollar Spaghetti recipe that’s cheesy, creamy, and perfect for sharing with others. I can’t wait for you to indulge in this spaghetti and see what the hype is all about!

What’s So Good About This Viral Spaghetti?

Well, for starters, its kind of like a Bolognese dish with a twist with the added creaminess of the cheese sauce.

I think what has created such a big hype around this seemingly classic spaghetti and meatball dish is that it’s baked, and you don’t typically see a spaghetti bake often. I’ve seen plenty of macaroni bakes, however, this recipe is a lot different from that.

The meat sauce in this viral pasta meal is just simply amazing. The added herbs, alliums, veggies, and of course, the thing that ties everything in together, the marinara sauce, is just a collection of perfection. It takes the ground meat flavor from a plain one to a fragrant and seasoned masterpiece. Note: This recipe calls for any ground meat and marinara sauce of your choice, but if you’d like to follow my version, I’ll be using a plant-based ground meat and Rao’s marinara sauce)

And then we have the cream sauce! There’s nothing much to say but it’s giving what we need it to give, and that’s probably why this spaghetti is simply delicious. A classic spaghetti and meat dish has now just been made with a more creamier consistency that’ll be even better once its baked.

Now that I have your mouth watering and your curiosity sparked, let me finally show you how to make TikTok’s very own viral spaghetti meal!

Ingredients

  • 1 box Spaghetti
  • 5 oz shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup Italian Panko Crumbs

For the meat sauce:

  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 medium onion (about 5 oz) – diced
  • 4 garlic cloves – minced
  • 1 small bell pepper (about 6 oz) – diced
  • 6 oz mushrooms, sliced
  • 12 oz ground meat (any – I use plant-based)
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp dried parsley
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tbsp Italian Spaghetti seasoning
  • 2.5 cups marinara sauce ( I use Rao’s)

For the cream sauce:

  • 1 stick butter
  • 4 garlic cloves, grated
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup milk
  • 4 oz freshly grated parmesan
  • 1/4 cup saved pasta water
  • 1/2 tsp dried parsley

How to Make the Spaghetti Bake

For the meat sauce…

1.) In a large skillet, heat the oil and then add the onions, garlic, peppers and cook for about five minutes until slightly softened.

2.) Add in the meat and the seasonings and cook another five minutes or until the meat is browned.

3.) Pour in the marinara sauce and simmer on lower heat for about 20 minutes. When done, set aside.

For the cream sauce…

1.) In a medium pot, melt the butter and add the garlic. Whisk for a couple of minutes until the garlic is nicely fragrant.

2.) Add in the cream and the milk and simmer on low for about 15 minutes. Whisk often.

3.) Gradually add in the parmesan and the parsley and whisk until the cheese is completely melted. (If you dump all your cheese at once, it might clump up.)

4.) While the sauce is cooking, cook your pasta according to package directions in salted water. Make sure to save 1/4 cup of the water.

Assembling the pasta!

1.) In a large baking dish, add the spaghetti and pour in the cheese sauce. Toss together.

2.) Top the spaghetti with the meat sauce and spread out evenly.

3.) Sprinkle with the mozzarella cheese and top it off with the panko crumbs.

4.) Cover with foil and bake at 380F for about 30 min. Uncover, and broil for couple of minutes or until you get a nice golden color.

Notes

I’m using a plant-based ground meat for this recipe, however, feel free to use any ground meat you like!
