Love thick noodles and flavorful Caribbean spice? Let’s get ready to indulge in this fine Caribbean Jerk and Garlic Pappardelle recipe consisting of Pappardelle pasta (a large flat pasta similar to fettuccine) as well as jerk seasoning, a combination of savory and heat spices!
Here’s what you’ll need to spice up your life. All in 20 minutes!
Ingredients
- 1/4 tsp Crushed Red Pepper Flakes
- 1 tbsp Olive Oil
- 3 tsp Caribbean Jerk Seasoning
- 4 oz Pappardelle
- 4 tbsp Butter
- 4 Garlic cloves (finely minced)
- 1/2 cup Pasta water
- Chopped parsley (optional)
Directions
First, in a small mixing bowl, combine your crushed red pepper flakes, olive oil, and jerk seasoning together.
Set that aside, and then cook the Pappardelle in salted boiling water until al dente. Don’t forget to save half a cup of pasta water once it’s done
Meanwhile, in a heated skillet, melt your butter and add the garlic cloves. You want to make sure your garlic is finely minced to incorporate stronger flavors into your dish and really bring out a wonderful aroma. Fun fact, the more you cut garlic, the stronger it is!
Cook this 3-4 min on low until nicely fragrant, and don’t let the garlic burn!
Then add in the seasoning mix from earlier, as well as the pasta water, and simmer together on low for about 5 min, mixing often.
Add in your cooked Pappardelle and toss with the sauce!
Finish this dish nicely by topping it off with some chopped parsley, if desired, and more chili flakes for that extra heat!
